Author of ] Open Interval [, a finalist for the National Book Award and the LA Times Book Prize, and Black Swan, winner of the Cave Canem Poetry Prize, LYRAE VAN CLIEF-STEFANON has been awarded fellowships from Cave Canem, the Lannan Foundation, Civitella Ranieri, and NYSCA/NYFA. ...That's the official bio, but the truth is I love forests and flowers, planting bulbs, spotting hawks, fiddling around on the piano and my banjo. A work in progress, I hope and pray to please God and find peace in the simple day to day. I like to cook and I love to eat. Right now, I'm learning how to throw pots.
